Incident Details: Witnesses saw 2 thieves cut the padlock of a dinghy locked to the dinghy dock. They abandoned the dinghy on Pointe À la Verdure beach after running out of fuel, and breaking the crank cord. The gendarmes were informed and assisted in the recovery and return of the dinghy.

Incident Details: A catamaran was stolen from its slip at Green Cay Marina, St. Croix. The owners discovered the yacht missing during a routine visit and alerted authorities. ||The yacht was recovered later that night while underway by US Customs and Border Patrol and taken to the Customs dock in St. Thomas. The thief was taken into custody by the Virgin Islands Police Department. ||On return to their yacht the owners found that to gain access to the locked yacht the thief had used a crowbar to smash the glass out of the (locked) sliding door.

Incident Details: Owners left the locked dinghy with 3-4 other dinghies at the dinghy dock at about 4PM, and deployed their stern anchor. When they returned an hour later they discovered the anchor rode had been cut and the stainless anchor stolen.

Incident Details: A yacht arrived in Dangriga about 0300HRs and anchored just outside the river, about 300 meters from shore. The crew did not lock the companionway and went to bed. The next morning they discovered they had been boarded, a thief had entered the yacht and stole a backpack (containing a laptop) and also a pair of sunglasses from the cockpit. Another laptop and cellphone sitting on the nav station were not taken. A police report was made the next day and the crew completed their checkout with officials.

Incident Details: While charter catamaran guests were ashore for the evening, a thief entered the locked yacht through a deck hatch which was left closed but not locked. Stolen items included cash, jewelry,4 cellphones, cameras + backpacks. A police report was made, and the police visited the yacht and collected forensics from the scene. A second yacht had a similar experience in this bay the same night.

Incident Details: Overnight a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) was stolen from the deck of a yacht anchored between Sandy and Paradise islands. It was properly secured to the yacht with the leash. A search of the area where wind/waves would have taken it was conducted, but without positive result.

Incident Details: At 0400 HRS four(4) thieves entered the marina, the first by climbing the card controlled gate, and then admitting his three(3) compatriots. They then stole 4 folding bicycles that were locked on the pontoons near the two (2) yachts they belonged to. The hoodie wearing thieves then exited with the stolen bikes thru the marina gate. The marina provided surveillance video and a report was made to the coastguard and the police.

Incident Details: A yacht anchored off Princess Margaret beach was locked but had a small port-light open. A thief reached in and stole a cellphone during dinner while ashore or overnight while those onboard slept. The cellphone was not visible from outside the yacht, so a long reach and some time to find it by feel was required. An informal police report was made the next day.
