Incident Details: A locked 3D dinghy/9.8HP Tohatsu outboard was stolen overnight from the Polypat boatyard dinghy dock. ||The boatyard management was notified and a police report was made.||UPDATE: A fisherman recovered the dinghy seaside in Nettle Bay. It had been slashed and loaded with rocks and was minus the outboard engine.

Incident Details: Overnight while owners slept onboard their yacht anchored in Cumberland Bay, their in-the-water but not locked dinghy was stolen, despite having 2 lines securing it to the yacht. Incident Details: Yacht owners awoke to find that their outboard engine that was locked to the stern pulpit had been stolen overnight. The dinghy which was left afloat and not locked was not taken. No police report was made and they left the next day.

2982 – Theft in Colombia – Punta Canoas

Incident Details: Owners decided to anchor for the night at 2130HRS at Punto Canoa after a long and tiring sail from Cabo de la Velas. They were the only boat in the anchorage. The crew awoke at 2330HRS when they heard people talking just beside their boat and shining lights into the cockpit. The captain went out and found 5-6 men in a panga claiming to be fishermen who thought they had run aground, and the men began asking many questions. One of them boarded, and asked for food. The captain spoke spanish and provided some food and asked that they leave to avoid problems since the yacht had not yet cleared in. The panga departed.||The next morning the crew found that the genoa furling line had been cut, and removed. A report was made to the marina on their arrival later that day.

Stolen Items: Two(2) dinghy anchors stolen, attempted theft of dinghy

Incident Details: Owners locked and tied their tender to the dingy dock, and disabled the 25HP engine from starting. Thieves stole 2 dinghy anchors and then set the dinghy adrift. Another cruiser noticed the drifting dinghy and retrieved it, and returned it to the owners.
