Incident Details Owners returned to their unlocked yacht after an evening ashore and found they had been boarded. Wet footprints were found in the salon and below. Nothing seemed to be missing, but the yacht had been well searched/ransacked. A report was made to the Navy.

Incident Details Overnight an unoccupied but locked yacht in Saigon Bay was burglarized. The thief broke in through a hatch and stole kite boards. An unsuccessful attempt was also made on a second unoccupied yacht in this bay. Incident Details Overnight an attempt was made to burglarize 2 unoccupied yachts in Saigon Bay. This was the unsuccessful attempt. The other yacht had kite boards stolen from the locked interior.

Incident Details Owners of a dinghy locked to the Gallows Bay dinghy dock returned to find that the fuel line and a Hawaiian sling (unlocked) had been stolen from the dinghy.

Incident Details A yacht anchored off Princess Margaret beach was locked but had a small port-light open. A thief reached in and stole a cellphone during dinner while ashore or overnight while those onboard slept. The cellphone was not visible from outside the yacht, so a long reach and some time to find it by feel was required. An informal police report was made the next day.

Incident Details A single hander who anchored near Anse Chastenet was boarded by 3men/2 boats with guns, and assaulted. Thieves demanded "drugs" and stole various items. The captain was injured severely and required medical treatment. Incident Details Dinghy was intentionally damaged (3 knife punctures) by persons unknown while locked to the St. Pierre dinghy dock during daylight hours.

Incident Details Three(3) dinghies were cable locked together on the beach in front of the church while owners were ashore for dinner. When they returned about 2 hours later the cable had been cut and one of the dinghies stolen. Helped by their friends, a search turned up the dinghy, minus the 15HP Yamaha outboard (which had been locked to the dinghy) . Incident Details A yacht on a mooring was left unlocked with a large dog on-board while owner was ashore from 8-10PM. A thief boarded and stole cash but left other items . It is unknown if a police report was made. ||If you are, or know this victim, please encourage a complete firsthand report.||UPDATE 2/13/2020: CSSN has received a firsthand report from the victim. Additional details include that there was some damage to the interior of the yacht, and that the thief likely used tools they found there. A report was made to the Navy, who visited the boat and took pictures but no forensics. CSSN has contacted stakeholders in Luperon to clarify the correct reporting process for the Dominican Republic.
