Incident Details Overnight a center console dinghy / 40HP Yamaha outboard left unlocked at the Cruz Bay dinghy dock was stolen. No further details are currently available.

CSSN UPDATE: With assistance from the BVI Marine Police the dinghy was recovered intact and undamaged in Tortola.

Incident Details At 1730HRS , on Sunday, October 5th, a female cruiser walked alone on the path from Hog Island to Clarkes Court Bay Boatyard. A lone male armed with a knife approached from behind, cut the strap of her backpack with a knife and then fled back toward Hog Island. A police report is planned.

Incident Details A cruiser returned to his yacht anchored in Le Marin after an absence of about 3 months. He found the locked companionway damaged, and the interior ransacked. Many things were taken from inside the yacht including a laptop, the stored outboard, many tools, the EPIRB. Also the VHF radio, GPS, autopilot and depth sounder were stolen. The burglar spent time removing these installed items.

Incident Details Overnight while the owner slept onboard, 2 fenders were stolen from a yacht on a mooring between Club de Pesca and Club Nautico. The lines were cut.

Incident Details While the owners slept onboard their yacht near Isla Grande, Panama, the engine, fuel tank and battery were stolen from their in-the-water dinghy. The engine was cable locked to the dinghy, and the dinghy cable locked to the yacht. A police report was made.

Incident Details Overnight while the owners slept on board in Linton Bay, Panama, their in-the-water and cable locked dinghy / outboard was stolen. A report was made to the police in Portobello.

CSSN UPDATE: The fuel tank (only) was found by cruisers on a nearby reef, the chain cut.

Incident Details At 0330HRS the crew of a catamaran berthed at Crews Inn heard footsteps on deck. The captain went topsides and interrupted 4-5 men in balaclavas rummaging in backpacks and luggage that had been left in the cockpit area earlier that day. He began yelling and they quickly jumped onto the dock and ran toward shore.

Later that day the crew checked the luggage and it did not seem anything had been stolen. Marina Security was contacted and they took a report, it is not known if a police report was made.
