Incident Details: Overnight between 0100-0700HRS, while the crew slept onboard, thieves boarded the yacht and attempted to steal the 15HP Yamaha outboard that was locked to the pushpit. The thieves stole the lifting harness, and strap, and loosened the lines on the lifting crane. A report was made to the marina and Customs authorities ashore.

Incident Details: A yacht spent one night in Soufriere. They found that the dinghy drain plug had been stolen from their lifted and locked dinghy.

Incident Details: The owners of a monohull arrived in Anse La la Raye, St. Lucia around midday, and were assisted onto a mooring. They were the only yacht there when they retired for the evening.

They were awakened by noise at 0220HRS. They found two thieves alongside in an open boat attempting to steal their lifted and locked to the yacht dinghy, the painter had been cut. They shone a spotlight on the thieves, which scared them off, the thieves sped off towards the north end of the village moorings.

A police report was made by phone.

Incident Details: A charter catamaran was one of 4 yachts using the mooring balls in the bay. It was circled by a small boat and then boarded at approximately 2300HRS. Three masked men had approached, one had moved onto the stern step before realizing they had been observed by the crew from the bridge area. The 3 men departed quickly. The captain chose to immediately leave the anchorage. It is not known if a police report was made.

Incident Details: Cruisers awoke at 2330HRS when they heard noise. Thieves had cut a lifting line and were attempting to steal their lifted and locked dinghy from the davits. Once discovered the thieves motored away from the catamaran.

Incident Details: Yacht owners were asleep onboard their yacht berthed in Rodney Bay Marina when they were awakened by noise on deck. They investigated and found a man had boarded and was attempting to steal the outboard from their lifted (davits) and locked dinghy. The thief departed and a report was made to the marina.

Incident Details: The owner of a yacht berthed at Rodney Bay Marina and lifted and locked their dinghy and outboard. The owner was not onboard when well prepared thieves took advantage of an island-wide power failure, cut the locking cables and stole the outboard engine from the dockside, off the lifted (and captive) dinghy. The yacht’s security cameras had shut off. A report was made to the marina office, and their security footage will be checked but no cameras were visible in the immediate area.

Incident Details: Owners were asleep onboard their catamaran and anchored off Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia. The dinghy was lifted in the davits. Thieves stole the 15HP Yamaha outboard from the dinghy transom, it was not locked.

A police report was made.

Incident Details: Overnight an in-the-water and locked dinghy was stolen from a yacht berthed in the Rodney Bay marina. Another yacht in another section of the marina was similarly affected (see 3673)

Both dinghies were found the next day in other parts of the marina.

Incident Details: A yacht berthed in Rodney Bay marina awoke to find their in-the water and locked dinghy had been stolen overnight. A report was made to the marina, police and Coast Guard. Another yacht in the marina had a similar experience.

Both dinghies were found the next day, tied in other parts of the marina. See 3674
