Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht in Mt. Hartman Bay was burgled between Aug 8-11. The break-in was discovered by the minder. (Victim #1 of 4) . See also 3905, 3906, 3907.
The thieves came prepared with tools and removed the screws on the companionway locking mechanism. The interior of the yacht was fully ransacked. The thieves left behind an outboard engine and personal electronics. The minder and owner are working to clean up the mess and determine what may have been stolen. This report will be updated when more information is available.
A report was made to the police and Coast Guard. The Coast Guard visited and took photos, but no forensics.

Incident Details: Overnight, thieves broke into an unoccupied yacht in the South anchorage. They initially broke into a small locked hatch, but were unable to gain entry. When rifling the cockpit they discovered a hidden key and entered the yacht. They stole many items including a GPS, GoPro camera, jewelry, clothing, a paddleboard and paddle and a JBL speaker.

Incident Details: A cruiser returned to his yacht anchored in Le Marin after an absence of about 3 months. He found the locked companionway damaged, and the interior ransacked. Many things were taken from inside the yacht including a laptop, the stored outboard, many tools, the EPIRB. Also the VHF radio, GPS, autopilot and depth sounder were stolen. The burglar spent time removing these installed items.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht anchored just off the marina dock in Linton Bay was burglarized. The thieves broke into the boat via a hatch. Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht near Witch’s Tit was burgled. The owner’s minder investigated after learning about a nearby incident. The thieves broke in through the companionway and ransacked the yacht fully, then concealed their efforts before departing with many items.
