Incident Details While owners slept thieves untied the dinghy painter before discovering the locking cable that secured the dinghy/outboard and fuel tank. Diesel fuel jugs secured on the deck were also disturbed, but not taken. A spare fuel jug in the cockpit was not locked, and stolen. ||A second yacht in the anchorage interrupted the attempted theft of their panga, and was able to scare the thieves away. ||Reports were made to the marina and on the VHF net.

Incident Details An unlocked dinghy / 25HP Yamaha was stolen from the dinghy dock at Foxy's. The dinghy was recovered nearby with a slashed tube (where an airtag had been hidden), minus the engine.||CSSN NOTE: The presence of AirTags and some other cell based/Bluetooth tracking devices are designed to discourage unwanted tracking and can be quickly and easily detected and located by thieves. Be certain you fully understand the limitations of these devices.

Incident Details Cruisers arrived at West End, Roatan in their trawler and took a mooring. They went ashore during daylight hours with friends. When they returned they found their yacht had been boarded and 2 fishing rods/reels had been stolen from the the upper deck. They found and recovered one of them the next morning while snorkeling behind the yacht and suspect the thief may have dropped it in a hastened departure after meeting their dog.

Incident Details A yacht anchored in French Cay was boarded while the owners were away for two days. The thieves were unable to enter the locked yacht, but stole dive gear and binoculars from an unlocked lazarette.

Incident Details Owners were awakened in the early hours when they heard noises from an outboard engine. They looked through a portlight and saw a thief onboard their yacht removing a fishing rod from its holder. The thief departed before they were able to get to the deck, when it was noticed he had stolen 2 rods. ||A second boat had their outboard engine stolen the same night. See report 3309.

Incident Details While anchored overnight in Laborie Bay, a Honda 2.3HP engine was stolen from the rail. A crew member was asleep in the cockpit. ||The crew of a second yacht awoke when they heard noises. Looking through a portlight they saw a thief onboard taking a fishing rod from its holder. See report 3307. The thief escaped in a small powered boat.

Incident Details Between 2200HRS on 4 May and 0700HRS on 5 May a yacht's secondary dingy/40HP Yamaha was stolen from alongside in the Port De Plaisance Marina. The dinghy was not locked, but tied to the midship cleat. Reports were made to the marina and the police.||UPDATE: A reward was offered and the dinghy was recovered
