Incident Details: Between 08:00 on Sep 5th and 13:00 on Sep 6th a Nissan 9.8HP outboard and 5 gallon fuel tank were stolen from a dinghy while it was chain locked to the dingy dock outside Covent garden in Tank Bay, English Harbour Antigua. The outboard was secured with a padlock between the two transom clamps . A police report was made.

Incident Details: Dinghy navigation lights and a dry bag were stolen from a closed but unlocked compartment in a dinghy locked to the Bequia public dock.. The thief also untied and stole the carabiner from the painter. A police report was made.||Several similar incidents have occurred at this dock, and a local stakeholder is investigating if video surveillance that had been discussed has been implemented or is still planned.

Incident Details: Overnight 5 yachts on moorings in Young Island Cut were boarded. Thieves stole cash,phones,electronics and other items from 4 of the the yachts. The 5th yacht was locked, and the owners awoke to the noise and found wet footprints in the cockpit. The police were notified and took forensics from 1 of the yachts. The police/coastguard have increased daytime and nighttime patrols in the anchorage.

Incident Details: A 16ft. center console with 70HP Yamaha was stolen from its slip in front the Arawak shop in Leverick Bay between 11PM July 9 and 1PM July 10. The boat was not locked to the dock, but the key had been removed. The BVI Police and Marina were notified, and a review of the marina video surveillance is expected.

Incident Details: Between 8 pm and midnight a 3D dinghy/15HP Yamaha outboard was stolen from the St. Anne dinghy dock. Owners found that the thief had come prepared with tools, and cut the line as well as the chain that secured the dinghy to the dock. A police report was made.

Incident Details: A lifted and stainless steel chain-locked dinghy with 18HP Tohatsu was stolen overnight from davits while owner was not onboard. ||UPDATE : Firsthand report received, replaces original second hand report – Owners indicated that the theft of another locked dinghy from a marine business in Union had not been reported to CSSN. Inquiries were made by CSSN , but no response was received about this second theft.
