Incident Details Owners returned to their catamaran at 2100HRS and found a swimmer had boarded thru an open pontoon escape hatch. When discovered, the unsuccessful thief exited the yacht back thru the escape hatch.||CSSN NOTE: This is the third reported incident from Cumberland Bay this month. See prior reports 2941, 2932

Incident Details A yacht anchored in Bayahibe, in six meters of water, in the middle of the charter catamaran buoys. A secondary anchor was attached as a kellet to the chain to add some weight and reduce swing. The secondary anchor was suspended 5 meters below the vessel, one meter above sand.||At 0800HRS the secondary anchor was clearly visible on the chain. At 1200HRS, the anchor was missing. There was no wind, no boat swinging, no swell. The crew had remained onboard all morning.||The crew did a thorough search for the anchor (several hours), nothing could be found, not where they boat lay or in vicinity. The shackle used to attach the anchor was easily found laying on the surface of the sand, in two parts, exactly where the boat was standing.

Incident Details A yacht moored at the Pitons was boarded overnight while the owner slept onboard. He noticed the floor was wet when he awoke the next morning and found that electronics and a camera had been stolen. He departed shortly thereafter and did not make any reports. ||CSSN NOTE: This report was received in March 2024, more than one year after the incident occurred. It has been added to the database/maps but no CSSN ALERT! was published, and it is not included in the 2022 Annual Report.

Incident Details A monohull anchored in Cumberland Bay was boarded overnight while owners slept onboard. They discovered that cash, phones and small electronics had been stolen. The Coast Guard and police were notified and visited. Incident Details An unlocked catamaran anchored in Cumberland bay was boarded overnight while the owner slept onboard. The next morning they found that the thief had stolen a bag with cash, credit cards, passport, other personal documents, a laptop, navigation tablet , a 20L (empty) jerrycan and the yachts new dinghy/15HP Yamaha that was in-the-water and not locked. Incident Details Transiting from Barbados, a yacht arrived in Bequia at 1600 and anchored and secured their monohull about 300meters offshore between South and Princess Margaret beach. The family went ashore to complete checkin formalities. When they returned just after dark at 1900HRS they found a kayak tied to the stern, which they removed as they stood off. Two (2) men emerged from the forward hatch, (which was the apparent point of ingress) ran down the side and jumped overboard. The owner retrieved some floating items (drone) from the water that had been tossed overboard during the escape. The owner boarded and conducted a thorough search of the yacht and the kayak and then boarded the family. In their haste to depart the thieves left behind their own personal belongings – including a phone, ID, and two (2) 6-8 inch knives . High value items that had been well hidden inside the boat were missing and not recovered. ||A police report was made. The police visited the boat, collected the left behind articles but collected no other forensics. They indicated that the two men were known to them. ||Currently, the owner is not aware of any formal charges being laid against the men, or if they are in custody. As updates from officials are received by the victims, CSSN will update this ALERT!. ||CSSN NOTE: This is the 4th burglary in the last month in Bequia. We have received and published ALERTS! about the first (2914), but 2 reports remain outstanding. It is not known if the 4 incidents are related. If you are a victim please take 5 minutes and complete the quick, easy and private online incident report, and keep our cruising community well informed.||UPDATE: The victim has been contacted by local police and told the 2 individuals whose ID’s were left behind were taken into custody, but no charges have been filed, or official statements made by authorities. Incident Details Cruisers left their dingy securely tied but not locked to the jetty at Saline beach. When they returned 2 hours later it had been stolen. A report was made to the coast guard and police.

Incident Details Utilizing their guidebook information, owners locked their dinghy to the Caritan, St. Anne dinghy dock at 0830HRS. When they returned from the nearby laundry at 0950HRS they found the dinghy had been vandalized. The bowline had been untied, (lock remained in place) the throttle handle had been broken off and the dinghy had been filled with garbage including metal grates, conch shells, fenders and antifreeze bottles.||CSSN NOTE: This is the 4th report of vandalism at this dock in 2022, and thefts of dinghies in the nearby anchorage add another 5 incidents, making this anchorage/dinghy dock the most active for the region in 2022.|Understand the details from the Zoom -Tap, Know & Go map.

Incident Details Owners locked their yacht moored in Blue Lagoon. They left the cockpit brightly lit before going ashore for the evening. Between 1830-2145HRs, burglars with tools arrived and broke into the yacht through the locked companionway. The burglars ransacked the interior and stole cash, credit cards, an iPad and rum. ||The Coast Guard was contacted and they arrived promptly. A police report was made the next day.

Incident Details A catamaran anchored close-in off Princess Margaret beach and the crew went into town for some quick supplies from 16:00-19:30HRS. When they returned to the yacht they found some items strewn on the deck floor. An unlocked external locker had been opened and rifled through. A bright red plastic fishing tackle box was stolen. 5 of 8 swim fin socks were taken from the drying line. The main cabin remained locked and there was no sign of any other attempted or forced entry. No police report was made.
