Incident Details At 1145HRS a cruiser noticed a man had started the engine and was attempting to cut the locking cable of a dinghy that was locked to the dinghy dock. She took a photo and asked the man if this was his dinghy and suggested the photo would be provided to the police. The unsuccessful thief departed. ||The owner was advised later and learned that another dinghy had been stolen from an anchored yacht a few nights previously. Incident Details A monohull anchored in Admiralty Bay discovered their in-the-water and not locked center console dinghy (SN80150) / 50HP 4S Yamaha (SN L2037258008) had been stolen between 2100-2345HRS. An extensive 3 hour search was immediately made in the area and well offshore. A report was made to the Coast Guard the next morning and also to the police.

Incident Details Overnight an in-the-water and not locked green/yellow kayak was stolen. The yacht was anchored near the island of Cambombia. The kayak was well tied up, and not even the rope remained. A reward has been offered.

Incident Details PRELIMINARY REPORT : At 0300HRS a charter catamaran on a SMMA park mooring at Pitons was boarded by six(6) men armed with machetes and robbed of cellphones , plus other items tbd. It is not known if there were any injuries. A report was made to the SMMA park rangers. Further details expected when the charter returns to its base on Monday, 19 December.||CSSN UPDATE : 19 December – The charter company has refused to provide any details or contact information for the victims. If you are a victim, please complete the CSSN online incident report so that others can understand the facts about what did/did not occur. ||This is the 5th reported violent incident in the Soufriere/Pitons area in the last 5 months, see CSSN incidents 2894, 2897, 2876 and 2848. ||Patrols are reported to have been recently put in place, but were clearly not an effective deterrent in this latest case.

Incident Details Between 0330-0500HRs an in-the-water but locked dinghy/outboard was stolen from an occupied yacht at anchor. A report was made to the Aeronaval (Coast Guard) and the police.

Incident Details Owners returned to their catamaran at 2100HRS and found a swimmer had boarded thru an open pontoon escape hatch. When discovered, the unsuccessful thief exited the yacht back thru the escape hatch.||CSSN NOTE: This is the third reported incident from Cumberland Bay this month. See prior reports 2941, 2932

Incident Details A yacht anchored in Bayahibe, in six meters of water, in the middle of the charter catamaran buoys. A secondary anchor was attached as a kellet to the chain to add some weight and reduce swing. The secondary anchor was suspended 5 meters below the vessel, one meter above sand.||At 0800HRS the secondary anchor was clearly visible on the chain. At 1200HRS, the anchor was missing. There was no wind, no boat swinging, no swell. The crew had remained onboard all morning.||The crew did a thorough search for the anchor (several hours), nothing could be found, not where they boat lay or in vicinity. The shackle used to attach the anchor was easily found laying on the surface of the sand, in two parts, exactly where the boat was standing.

Incident Details A yacht moored at the Pitons was boarded overnight while the owner slept onboard. He noticed the floor was wet when he awoke the next morning and found that electronics and a camera had been stolen. He departed shortly thereafter and did not make any reports. ||CSSN NOTE: This report was received in March 2024, more than one year after the incident occurred. It has been added to the database/maps but no CSSN ALERT! was published, and it is not included in the 2022 Annual Report.

Incident Details A monohull anchored in Cumberland Bay was boarded overnight while owners slept onboard. They discovered that cash, phones and small electronics had been stolen. The Coast Guard and police were notified and visited.
