Incident Details The owner left their yacht on a mooring in the French lagoon from March 30 – April 26. During that timeframe various items were stolen from the deck (6HP outboard/anchor/towing generator/winches removed +) and others were stolen with some effort from the unlocked but blocked interior. Incident Details A charter yacht had its unlocked dinghy/outboard stolen from the Lobster Trap dinghy dock while they were ashore for dinner. A local search did not locate the dinghy.

Incident Details A motor yacht moving at 8.2kn was transiting from the San Blas islands, Panama, to the US via the Yucatan channel. At 1830HRS at position 16-21.197N 081-26.630W, approximately 130nm from the NE coast of Honduras in the Thunder Knoll area, they observed a 50-65' white fishing vessel with beige superstructure at a distance of 1.8nm. The yacht altered course and added speed (8.8kn). Radar indicated that the fishing vessel had significantly increased its speed (8.5kn) and altered its direction to an intercept course. There were no radio communications. As a precaution the yacht went dark (lights and AIS transmit off). Several course changes by the yacht were mirrored by the fishing vessel that continued to track at speed on an intercept course. ||The yachts crew prepared in accordance with their previously agreed boarding plan. They readied multiple flares, a spear gun and had already preprogrammed USCG phone numbers in their devices/Starlink. They began to close and secure all access points. PLB's and EPIRBS were hidden but remained easily accessible to the crew. || After about a half hour of pursuit/evasion the yacht had increased the distance to 2.3nm and the fishing vessel turned around, reduced speed and slowly headed SSW back to the area where it had first been sighted. ||The crew notified another vessel traveling behind them about the situation and they chose to alter course 30nm further east. After some distance had been achieved the yacht restored its lights/AIS transmit and continued its passage. They will make a report to officials on arrival.

Incident Details A yacht anchored in Prince Rupert Bay tied their dinghy to the fishing dock in town to walk to the Saturday market in town. A man approached and began shouting at the couple and followed them. He had no visible weapons and threatened to break the man's neck. Others became concerned and intervened, and encouraged that a police report be made. The couple made a police report and the police gave a verbal caution. ||On Tuesday, the crew returned to the dock and were again threatened by the same man. Again, others intervened and there were no injuries. A second report was made to the police.

Incident Details A yacht had been anchored for almost a month among about 30 other yachts opposite the Old San Juan marina. Their in-the-water and not locked dinghy was stolen overnight while they slept onboard. The dinghy was recovered ashore the next morning. The engine had been well locked to the dinghy, the thieves were prepared and cut the transom mounting clamps and stole the whole engine/cable lock assembly and the oars. A report was made to the marina and the police.

Incident Details Cruisers returned to their yacht in Rodney Bay Marina after a 2 week absence and noticed that an unoccupied neighboring yacht was missing all its fenders and a spring line. Close inspection revealed the fender lines had been cut. The marina was notified and they used one of their own fenders to help prevent damage. Few lights were working on the dock and no CCTV coverage was in place.

Incident Details Cruisers anchored in the lagoon awoke at 0150HRS to sounds on their aft deck. A thief had boarded and was attempting to lower their raised and tied off dinghy/outboard. They began banging on the ceiling of their aft cabin and the thief aborted his efforts and jumped back in his dinghy and drifted a short way off while claiming he "needed gas". ||The cruisers used a spot light to light up the scene and began recording video. The thief had a second dinghy already in tow and departed the lagoon via the Sandy Ground bridge. ( See 3281) A report was made on the VHF net the next morning, where another cruiser confirmed their dinghy had been stolen overnight. A police report was made and the video provided to authorities.
