| Incident Details | Three(3) dinghies were cable locked together on the beach in front of the church while owners were ashore for dinner. When they returned about 2 hours later the cable had been cut and one of the dinghies stolen. Helped by their friends, a search turned up the dinghy, minus the 15HP Yamaha outboard (which had been locked to the dinghy) . | Incident Details | A yacht on a mooring was left unlocked with a large dog on-board while owner was ashore from 8-10PM. A thief boarded and stole cash but left other items . It is unknown if a police report was made. ||If you are, or know this victim, please encourage a complete firsthand report.||UPDATE 2/13/2020: CSSN has received a firsthand report from the victim. Additional details include that there was some damage to the interior of the yacht, and that the thief likely used tools they found there. A report was made to the Navy, who visited the boat and took pictures but no forensics. CSSN has contacted stakeholders in Luperon to clarify the correct reporting process for the Dominican Republic. |

| Incident Details | A Walker Bay dinghy tied to the Tyrrel Bay Marina dinghy dock was stolen overnight. Friends of the owner noticed a similar dinghy tied to a boat at Sandy Island. They investigated and discovered it was the stolen dinghy, based on its unique/custom lifting hardware. The rubber pontoons had been removed and a black cove stripe had been painted on the dinghy. After some "discussion" the dinghy was taken by the friends and returned to the owners. The police were called and indicated they would come to the boat for the report. |

| Incident Details | A yacht anchored for 2 days near Sandals in Rodney Bay had its in-the-water and chain locked 13ft. center console RIB /40HP outboard stolen overnight. The yachts video surveillance recorded the theft. A police report was made the next morning and the video provided to authorities, who indicated they planned a visit to the yacht later that day before completing their report. As of 5PM no visit had been made. An announcement was made on local VHF and a local search was completed by the owners, but without result.||While making the report, another victim of dinghy theft appeared in the office. If you are that victim, or know them, please encourage a CSSN report.||UPDATE: February 9, 2020 – dinghy recovered, (damaged) minus 40HP outboard||The victims have updated their initial report, and asked that we hold publishing our update until they had departed St. Lucia. CSSN of course honored this request.||The stolen (but now damaged) dinghy had been reported found (minus the outboard) by another cruiser to the police early on the morning it had been stolen, and 2 hrs. before the victims made their report. Police failed to connect the 2 reports within their small office, and coordination with other policing agencies was nonexistent. While they were transiting the anchorage 2 days later, the victims found the dinghy in the care of the cruiser who had made the “found dinghy” police report.||The victims were able to “flag down” a passing marine police boat, and made another complete report to them (the marine police claimed they were previously unaware of this incident). Despite requests from the victims no forensics, no investigation or any follow-up was conducted by any of the policing agencies. The victims departed St. Lucia. |

| Incident Details | While ashore for dinner between 8-9:30PM a yacht was burgled, there was significant damage to the entry and severe ransacking of the interior. Thieves found and stole a laptop and iPhone, damaged textiles and other electronics (iPad and Google phone).||A police report was made, the police investigators indicated that similar events have occurred in this anchorage recently. The owner also indicated that a dinghy oar and fuel had been stolen at the dinghy dock. |
