Incident Details the owner returned to the Marigot dinghy dock and found that their fuel tank had been stolen.

Incident Details The owners arrived back at the dinghy dock in Marigot at about 2300HRS, and found their dinghy had been ransacked. The dinghy and fuel tank were locked, but the thief cut the fuel line, stole the tank cap, some fuel, a bottle of 2 stroke oil, an outboard navigation light and the dinghy foot pump.

An earlier victim had made a video of a man rummaging through dinghies, and his yacht was identified. The next morning they were able to retrieve their items, minus the fuel and foot pump, hidden in the dinghy of the identified yacht which was anchored nearby off Galisbay, before it hurriedly departed to the west.

Incident Details Overnight while the owner slept onboard, a catamaran anchored near the bridge had their in-the-water and not locked dinghy stolen. A report was made to the police and Coast Guard.

Incident Details After reading positive reviews in Navionics, a yacht anchored alone in Playa Chiquita at 1900HRS. At 2230HRS a swimmer attempted to board the monohull. The crew shined a bright light into the mans eyes as he explained in Spanish he wanted to rest and his friend would be arriving soon. He asked if they wanted to give him a life vest or an iPhone. Before he could climb the transom he was told to leave immediately or there would be trouble. The swimmer gave up, swam away, and the yacht departed.

Incident Details Overnight, an in-the water and not locked 3D dinghy/Yamaha 15HP outboard “disappeared” from an occupied yacht anchored in Linton Bay. It was found the next morning in the nearby mangroves and taken to a nearby yacht in the Bay. Shortly afterwards, a man appeared and claimed the dinghy as his own, and gave a “tip” of $100US to the captain onboard. Unfortunately, the man who claimed the dinghy was not actually the owner. A report was made to the police.

Incident Details Overnight, a yacht anchored in a small bay east of Hotel Catamaran Marina had their in-the-water and not locked dinghy/outboard stolen. The line had been cut. The dinghy minus the engine was recovered.

Incident Details A yacht was anchored near the entrance channel to the Bas du Fort marina. While the owner was away for a week, the dinghy that was chain locked to the mast on deck was stolen. Thieves arrived well prepared with tools.

Incident Details This is the third report/second night of reported boardings in the Bonaire mooring field (see 3795/3796).

The owner of a neighboring yacht noticed swimmers hanging on their neighbor’s stern at 0200HRS. He began yelling and shined a bright light on the swimmers, who refused to leave. The police were called and the dinghy lowered, the men began making threats and swam toward the nearby shore. The police arrived promptly and intercepted the swimmers but did not detain them. A full police report will be made by all 3 victims, and shared with the Port Captain and the marina.

CSSN UPDATE: The 3 victim boats attempted to make a police report but were rebuffed by officials, who seemed unaware of the boardings/events of the previous night. When asked for specific advice, the Chief of Police suggested calling 911, who should summon the correct response units, asking the boarders to leave (3x) and making a video of the activity. In the ABC’s calling 913 will connect with the Dutch Coast Guard.

Incident Details Catamaran owners awoke to find their swim ladder had been pulled down and they had been boarded overnight. They learned that another boat on a nearby mooring was also boarded (see 3796). The yacht was locked and nothing had been taken.
