Incident Details Overnight while the owner slept onboard their in-the-water and not locked West Marine dinghy / 9.9HP Suzuki was stolen. It was recovered in Basti the next day, minus the engine, fuel tank and oars.

A report was made on the VHF net.

Incident Details A yacht moored near Explorer island was burgled between July 9-15th. The companionway door was broken and the yacht fully ransacked. Burglars removed installed items (batteries/VHF radio/chart plotter +). A locked to the yacht 5HP Tohatsu outboard was also stolen. Tools and even provisions were taken. A police report was made.

CSSN Update: the victims have determined that many additional items were also taken, including
Kaise 3000w inverter, Kaise 1000w inverter, 24 liters of bottled water , snorkeling and fishing gear, Magma kettle grill, Medkit, headlamp, flashlights, foul weather gear, 2 fire extinguishers, climbing harness, kitchen knives, West Marine auto focus binoculars, 1x marine binoculars, Life sling, courtesy flags and soft goods.

Incident Details Overnight while the owner slept onboard the in-the-water and not locked dinghy was stolen from a yacht in the south anchorage. A report was made on the local VHF net, and a local search was conducted, but not successful.

CSSN UPDATE : Dinghy was found intact at a dock located upwind of the anchorage, and returned to the owner.

Incident Details The fuel tank was stolen from a dinghy docked at the Gustavia municipal dock. The fuel tank was locked to the dinghy with a small chain. ||A report was made to the marina and the police.

Incident Details At 1800HRS cruisers on neighboring yachts noticed a local cayuco with 2 women had circled and then approached a locked and obviously vacant yacht in the south anchorage. One of the women boarded the yacht. The cruisers began yelling and videoing and once discovered the woman who had boarded returned to the cayuco and they paddled away. The police and the owner were contacted and a report was made. The women claimed ignorance and were warned.

Incident Details A well locked yacht anchored in the Red Frog area was burglarized. The owners returned after a few hours ashore to find their hatches damaged and many things stolen, including personal electronics (phone, Kindles, tablet, earbuds) and other items. ||A report was made to Aeronaval (Coast Guard) and to the police and marina.

Incident Details A yacht moored off Peakes had their in-the-water and not locked dinghy/outboard stolen overnight. The painter had been cut. A police report was made. While investigating an earlier theft, police recovered the dinghy, minus the outboard.

Incident Details A yacht was anchored for storage in Salinas. Another boat ran over the lines, entangling the lines in their prop/shaft. After freeing the lines, the boat owner retrieved and stole the 66 pound stainless steel anchor and rode. A witness reported the theft to the owner on his return. A police report was made.

Incident Details A yacht anchored in Gouyave. The line on their in-the-water and not locked dinghy was cut, and the dinghy stolen. The thieves returned and demanded a ransom, and the dinghy/outboard was taken back.
