Incident Details Overnight thieves attempted to steal one dinghy/outboard, but it was chain locked to a tree on the beach. They were able to steal a second dinghy/3HP outboard, also on the beach, that was not locked. The thieves apparently abandoned the stolen dinghy when they were unable to start it because of a loose wire. It was found undamaged and adrift the next day by a cruiser in Prickly Bay, and returned. A police report was made.

Incident Details A sailing school charter yacht anchored overnight in Charleston Bay, Canouan. In the morning the students discovered a fuel tank for the outboard motor, and a spare anchor were stolen from one of the lazarettes where they had been stowed overnight. ||The theft occurred in the late evening between midnight and 5am the next morning.

Incident Details At 2000HRS owners returned to the Cruz bay dinghy dock and found that their RIB dinghy, and the other that was there, had been slashed. No police report was made.

Incident Details While the crew was away for dinner from 1900 hours to 2100 hours thieves boarded a monohull anchored off Princess Margaret Beach, and broke in thru the locked companionway. A computer, electronics and clothing were stolen. A police report was made.

Incident Details A dinghy locked to the Prickly Bay marina dinghy dock was stolen. When the owner contacted marina management it was found that the video surveillance was not functional. A police report was made.||CSSN UPDATE: updated to firsthand, victim was told by police a locked eBike was also stolen the same night, as well as a 40HP outboard from a raised dinghy in the marina.

Incident Details While crew was away a thief boarded their catamaran anchored off Princess Margaret Beach, Bequia, and stole a spare pump from inside the unlocked cockpit locker. The thief did not enter the locked salon. No police report was made.

Incident Details A cruising yacht with 2 persons onboard anchored for the night at Anse Canaries. No other cruising yachts were nearby. At 0100HRS they were awoken by noise and the captain went topsides and found 1 of 2 men on a kayak had boarded. The captain pushed the man into the water. The 2 men threatened the captain/crew by sharing their intention to return with a gun and kill them, and then departed.||The police were called, and the marine police arrived in less than 1 hour to take a report.||CSSN NOTE: An assault/armed robbery occurred in this anchorage in July 2022 as follows:||• DATE: 2022-07-08 20:00|LOCATION: Saint Lucia – Anse Canaries|EVENT: Robbery|HAND: 1|STOLEN ITEMS: Cash and personal electronics – tablet, cell phone|SECURED: Does not apply|DETAILS: At about 2000HRS two men armed with hand guns boarded a catamaran that had stopped for safe harbor overnight in the north end of Canaries Bay, St. Lucia, while on passage from Martinique to St Vincent. They held the singlehanding owner/captain at gunpoint in the salon and demanded cash and electronics that were readily surrendered. A demand for the “big money” was made but there was no large stash to surrender. After about 45 minutes the 2 left with what was assumed to be a third man who had remained in their boat. There were no injuries to the captain or damage to the yacht.
