Incident Details A catamaran anchored in Simpson Bay and the crew went ashore for dinner. When they returned they found the electric scooters that had been left charging in the cockpit were missing. They assumed another crew member was using them and went to bed. The next morning they determined the scooters had been stolen, as well as a new in-the- box drone. The thieves had carefully rummaged the yacht and left behind cameras, computers, hard drives, etc. ||Ashore the next day they randomly encountered a man on one of the stolen scooters, and retrieved it. A full report was made to the Coast Guard and the police. The thieves were recognized as jet ski tour operators in the anchorage and identified, photos were provided to the police.

Incident Details A singlehander departed Santa Marta, Colombia, for the San Blas islands (Panama) and was attacked by pirates about 5 miles offshore Barranquilla, Colombia. The 3 pirates boarded and attacked the captain, beating him and then stabbing him with a knife they found onboard. They made 3 trips to his boat over a few hours time and stole many things including batteries, cables, sails, blocks, fenders +++ and they destroyed electronics.|| The captain was able to make phone contact with a friend in his home country between visits and they contacted their local rescue authorities who then made contact with the Colombian Coast Guard. ||The injured captain continued to repel the pirates' later visits with a hammer and flares, and cut a line they were using in an attempt to tow him toward shore. The pirates finally gave up. The Colombian Coast Guard arrived at the yacht about 30 minutes after the final visit by the pirates and provided assistance and then towed the yacht back to Santa Marta marina where the captain was taken by ambulance to the hospital, treated and kept overnight. ||Reports were made to the Coast Guard and the marina.

Incident Details Five men approached from land and broke into an unoccupied charter catamaran at the Polypat dock. They stole flares/flaregun that they then used to board another (occupied) yacht on the same dock (3190) and assaulted the crew. They later stole another unoccupied catamaran (see 3191) and crashed into the Sandy Ground bridge.

Incident Details After stealing a flaregun/flares from another yacht, (see 3189) five hooded men broke through the companionway of an occupied monohull and fired flares/smoke bombs into the cabin. A crew member used wasp spray to repel the attackers. The police were called and the Coast Guard summoned on VHF16. The police arrived about 45 minutes later and took a preliminary report. The captain received a head injury and was later treated/released from the hospital.

Incident Details After the police departed from the monohull that had reported the assault, (see 3190) the 5 men stole an unoccupied and mast-less catamaran from a nearby dock. They crashed it into the Sandy Ground bridge trying to leave the lagoon, and abandoned it there. A police report was made.

Incident Details An in-the-water and not locked dinghy was stolen overnight from Chatham Bay while the owners slept onboard. They discovered all 4 lines sharply cut in the morning. ||A police report was made. Incident Details A cruiser returned to his beached dinghy in Saline Bay at approximately 18:30HRS. He was attacked by a man with a machete, and thrown down on the sand and held there with a knee to his back.||The attacker demanded his money and "gold". The cruiser told him there was 5 ECD in the wallet in the dinghy and was asked if there was money on the boat. The cruiser told him only the 5 ECD as there was no ATM on Mayreau. He wore no watch or jewelry. ||The attacker threatened to cut off his head and told him to remain down, which he did as the assailant moved away into the trees. After a short time he called out that he could go. The cruiser was not injured and rowed to a friends boat nearby. The 5 ECD was left behind. ||The next day a police report was made.

Incident Details A yacht anchored alone in the bay was boarded by four masked men each armed with a handgun at 2230HRS. The captain was pistol whipped and crew held at gunpoint while the boat was ransacked. The attackers demanded the drugs they thought were onboard. They stole electronics (inReach, laptop, phones), cash and jewelry, plus other assorted items. ||The thieves were unable to steal the well secured dinghy as the keys were lost in the mess they created. Some of the thieves paddled their unpowered boat ashore to unload the stolen items and returned for more and their companions. The entire event lasted about an hour. The captain self-treated his head wounds. ||A report to consular officials was planned, and the boat left the bay.

Incident Details Overnight 3 in-the-water dinghies were stolen from yachts. Dinghy#1 was not locked and recovered the next day minus its 20HP Tohatsu engine, battery, tools, shoes. Dinghy #2 (3180) was also recovered, minus its engine. Dinghy# 3 (3181) was not recovered. A police report was made.
