Incident Details An unoccupied yacht was stolen from its mooring in Clifton Harbor, Union island overnight on July 23/24. Any sightings should be reported to local authorities for investigation. Incident Details A foreign flagged yacht was secured/locked dockside in Marina Hemingway in mid-March, a local "minder" was required and hired as the crew was required to leave Cuba. On July 20, the minder reported that the yacht had been burgled. ||Many items had been stolen, a laptop, tablet, GPS, sat phone, binoculars, tools, flashlight, etc. The minder made reports on behalf of the owner to the marina and police. ||The police visited and collected forensics and additional information. Serial number information was not readily available as it was onboard and owners/crew have not been able to return due to travel restrictions. It is not known if other yachts in the Marina have been similarly affected.

Incident Details A 16ft. center console with 70HP Yamaha was stolen from its slip in front the Arawak shop in Leverick Bay between 11PM July 9 and 1PM July 10. The boat was not locked to the dock, but the key had been removed. The BVI Police and Marina were notified, and a review of the marina video surveillance is expected.

Incident Details Between 8 pm and midnight a 3D dinghy/15HP Yamaha outboard was stolen from the St. Anne dinghy dock. Owners found that the thief had come prepared with tools, and cut the line as well as the chain that secured the dinghy to the dock. A police report was made.

Incident Details A lifted and stainless steel chain-locked dinghy with 18HP Tohatsu was stolen overnight from davits while owner was not onboard. ||UPDATE : Firsthand report received, replaces original second hand report – Owners indicated that the theft of another locked dinghy from a marine business in Union had not been reported to CSSN. Inquiries were made by CSSN , but no response was received about this second theft.

Incident Details A yacht on a mooring in Blue Lagoon had its in the water and unlocked dinghy (WalkerBay 10Ft with 9.8HP Tohatsu) stolen overnight while owners slept on board. . A report was made to the Coast Guard .

Incident Details An in-the water cable locked and alongside dinghy was stolen overnight, apparently by a swimmer with a hacksaw blade or cutting tool while the owner slept in the cockpit .||The owner found the dinghy minus outboard (locked to the dinghy) and fuel tank and snorkel gear the next morning on a nearby beach/mangroves. Reported to the Coast Guard ,police ,marina and on the local VHF net. A reward has been offered. ||CSSN NOTE : A second yacht in this bay had an unsuccessful attempted theft of an in -the-water locked dinghy/outboard this same night. Incident Details During daylight hours between 10:15 and 11:30 AM an unlocked cruising catamaran on a private 2 yacht floating dock along the mangroves south of the Puerto Blanco marina was boarded and ransacked. The thief used a knife found on the yacht to defeat the locked safe and stole cash, jewelry and a credit card. Wet footprints were found throughout the yacht. A report was made to the police, port captain and coast guard as well as the tourism representative. The police visited the yacht and collected some forensics a few days later and currently have some suspects in custody.||CSSN NOTE: This is the 7th boarding/incident in this bay in the last 6 months. We will update this report as additional information about successful prosecution is provided by the victims.

Incident Details Owners deployed their dinghy stern anchor on arrival at the St. Anne dinghy dock at 10:00 AM. On their return at 4:00 PM they discovered the stern anchor was missing. They dove the surrounding area and determined the stern anchor and rode had been stolen.

Incident Details Overnight on the 14/15th of May a local 18ft. boat with 40HP Yamaha Enduro engine on a private mooring in the bay was stolen from Blue Lagoon. The 3 lines securing the boat to a larger catamaran had all been cut and were left dangling. This location was not in range of Marina video surveillance. A police report was made. Anyone with information about this stolen boat should contact the SVG police at Calliaqua police station 784 458 4200 .
