Incident Details: The crew of a yacht anchored near Gros Islet woke to find they had been boarded overnight. The thief stole cash, an iPad and a kitchen knife. They left their own knife behind. No police report was made.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht anchored in Le Marin, Martinique, was burglarized for the second time (see prior incident 2835) while the owner was away. The minder discovered that a locked hatch had been compromised. The burglar came well prepared with tools and removed a refrigeration compressor, an installed halyard and additional sheets, blocks and pulleys, a 20kg Rocna anchor, coffee machine, flashlights and snorkeling gear. The minder moved aboard the boat, there were no further problems.|| The victim did not make a second police report.

Incident Details: Cruisers anchored in Chaguaramas awoke to find that a thief had boarded overnight and cut the cable locking the outboard engine on the dinghy to the yacht, which was raised on davits. The thieves were not successful at removing the outboard, but were able to steal the fuel line.

Reports were made to the marina, port captain and a police report is planned.||UPDATE : Sept. 7, 2022 . Police returned the missing dinghy/outboard after a fisherman recovered it offshore, with the cut cable still attached.

Incident Details: At 0215HRS a yacht on an SMMA mooring for its 3rd night was boarded by armed thieves. One of the assailants came thru an open hatch and then entered the salon where a female crew member was awake, and she began yelling. He attempted to silence her with a hand over her mouth and attempted to stuff a rag in her mouth and then began choking her, as she continued to struggle and yelled. A second crew member (male) awoke and it became violent and louder as many blows were exchanged. A second assailant entered thru the companionway and began assaulting the crew as well. The activity woke a third male crew member who came from the V berth, with crew now outnumbering the intruders 3 to 2. At this point the intruders jumped overboard and swam toward shore. || A knife that belonged to one of the intruders was found on the salon floor. The crew was well bloodied, and the intruders left behind significant blood as well. The crew chose to treat their own injuries. A small amount of cash had been taken, and the cover on the cockpit chart plotter had been removed. ||Reports were made to the police, Coast Guard and SMMA authorities. No forensics were taken.

Incident Details: Cruisers went ashore for dinner and locked the dinghy to the dock of JJ's restaurant. When they returned they found their new fuel hose, pump and fittings had been stolen. The dinghy, outboard and the fuel tank were well locked and remained in place.

Incident Details: Between 1800-2000HRS a well secured dinghy was stolen from the small dock at southern end of Cabrita Bay. The thieves were well prepared with a strong cutting tool/disc and cleanly cut the heavy cable. A report was made to the police and coast guard, no forensics were taken.

Incident Details: Overnight while owners slept onboard a thief boarded their monohull off Princess Margaret Beach, Bequia, and stole a 5 gallon (full) fuel jug from the cockpit. The dinghy fuel tank (also full) was also emptied. A small portable generator in the cockpit and a small 2 gallon fuel jug on the swim platform were undisturbed. A police report was made.
