Incident Details: The owners of a catamaran recently hauled in Clarkes Court Boatyard were advised by a friend that there had been a break-in on their yacht. The thieves had cut out the weather stripping of the catamaran’s sliding door in an attempt to remove the glass which was unsuccessful, and they also bent a very heavy hasp. They found a hatch mistakenly left open/unlocked and stole rum and ginger ale, otherwise the interior appeared undisturbed.

Incident Details: Five men approached from land and broke into an unoccupied charter catamaran at the Polypat dock. They stole flares/flaregun that they then used to board another (occupied) yacht on the same dock (3190) and assaulted the crew. They later stole another unoccupied catamaran (see 3191) and crashed into the Sandy Ground bridge.

Incident Details: A yacht docked in the marina was burglarized while the owners were away. Video footage identified the burglar as a former employee who police indicate has fled the island. Warrants are now in place. Reports made to the marina, Port Captain and police.

2928 – Burglary in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – Bequia – Princess Margaret Beach

Incident Details: Transiting from Barbados, a yacht arrived in Bequia at 1600 and anchored and secured their monohull about 300meters offshore between South and Princess Margaret beach. The family went ashore to complete checkin formalities. When they returned just after dark at 1900HRS they found a kayak tied to the stern, which they removed as they stood off. Two (2) men emerged from the forward hatch, (which was the apparent point of ingress) ran down the side and jumped overboard. The owner retrieved some floating items (drone) from the water that had been tossed overboard during the escape. The owner boarded and conducted a thorough search of the yacht and the kayak and then boarded the family. In their haste to depart the thieves left behind their own personal belongings – including a phone, ID, and two (2) 6-8 inch knives . High value items that had been well hidden inside the boat were missing and not recovered. ||A police report was made. The police visited the boat, collected the left behind articles but collected no other forensics. They indicated that the two men were known to them. ||Currently, the owner is not aware of any formal charges being laid against the men, or if they are in custody. As updates from officials are received by the victims, CSSN will update this ALERT!. ||CSSN NOTE: This is the 4th burglary in the last month in Bequia. We have received and published ALERTS! about the first (2914), but 2 reports remain outstanding. It is not known if the 4 incidents are related. 2921 – Burglary in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – St. Vincent – Blue Lagoon

Incident Details: Owners locked their yacht moored in Blue Lagoon. They left the cockpit brightly lit before going ashore for the evening. Between 1830-2145HRs, burglars with tools arrived and broke into the yacht through the locked companionway. The burglars ransacked the interior and stole cash, credit cards, an iPad and rum. ||The Coast Guard was contacted and they arrived promptly. A police report was made the next day.
