Incident Details: Overnight on the 14/15th of May a local 18ft. boat with 40HP Yamaha Enduro engine on a private mooring in the bay was stolen from Blue Lagoon. The 3 lines securing the boat to a larger catamaran had all been cut and were left dangling. This location was not in range of Marina video surveillance. A police report was made. Anyone with information about this stolen boat should contact the SVG police at Calliaqua police station 784 458 4200 .

Incident Details: CSSN Preliminary report : Yacht at anchor in Lindbergh Bay was stolen night of 4/26/2020. Police, USCG and Customs Border Patrol were notified. The yacht was apparently taken for a "joy ride" to nearby St. John, then returned and abandoned all sails up on the rock jetty In Frenchtown, St. Thomas. A good Samaritan noticed the yacht and a salvage company removed it safely from the rocks, with what appeared to be cosmetic damage, and the theft of some contents.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht on a mooring was burglarized between 16-24 April. The minder discovered the break-in, thieves cut several locks on lazarettes and the companionway. Tools were used to remove 2 winches in the cockpit, also stolen were 15HP Yamaha, handheld VHF, dive gear, safety gear, a new uninstalled lithium battery still in its box, other items. The minder made a police report.

Incident Details: Witnesses saw 2 thieves cut the padlock of a dinghy locked to the dinghy dock. They abandoned the dinghy on Pointe À la Verdure beach after running out of fuel, and breaking the crank cord. The gendarmes were informed and assisted in the recovery and return of the dinghy.

Incident Details: A catamaran was stolen from its slip at Green Cay Marina, St. Croix. The owners discovered the yacht missing during a routine visit and alerted authorities. ||The yacht was recovered later that night while underway by US Customs and Border Patrol and taken to the Customs dock in St. Thomas. The thief was taken into custody by the Virgin Islands Police Department. ||On return to their yacht the owners found that to gain access to the locked yacht the thief had used a crowbar to smash the glass out of the (locked) sliding door.

Incident Details: An engine-less dinghy was chain locked to the pontoon dock. At 12:40PM a car pulled up and 3 men prepared with tools cut the non-stainless chain and attempted to steal the dinghy and put it in the car. Others nearby stopped the theft. A police report was made.

Incident Details: Anchored near ilet du Gosier, owners heard noise around 0130 HRS and investigated. A french speaking man had boarded and was pulling a yellow kayak onto the swim platform. He departed after being discovered and warned by the captain, and then abandoned the kayak on the beach, where it still remained days later. A report was made to the Coast Guard.

Incident Details: A foreign flagged monohull with 4 persons onboard was the lone yacht anchored in Bahia de Barbacoas (south of Cartagena) for 5 nights. The dinghy was hoisted on a halyard to deck height. At about midnight the crew heard voices and discovered that 3 men with machetes from a small fishing boat had boarded. ||The crew locked themselves inside an interior cabin and the captain turned on deck lights and yelled. One intruder came into the yacht and attempted to get into the locked cabin, and another managed to hit the captain on the head with the flat side of his machete thru a hatch. The intruders slashed the halyard, and took the dinghy/outboard and some fenders from a foredeck locker. Shore side, a very bright spotlight was shone on the confrontation and the thieves departed. ||The captain set off a red parachute flare and noticed the dinghy adrift nearby. They upped anchor and retrieved it, the thieves had damaged the locked outboard while trying to remove it, but were not successful. ||The Armada Nacional (coast guard) was contacted by those on shore and arrived promptly and escorted the yacht to anchor in Los Rosarios but instructed them not to stay overnight as they could not guarantee safety. The yacht and crew were granted sanctuary despite port closure and accepted into Santa Marta marina later that day, where a medic provided treatment for the head wound.

Incident Details: Owners left the locked dinghy with 3-4 other dinghies at the dinghy dock at about 4PM, and deployed their stern anchor. When they returned an hour later they discovered the anchor rode had been cut and the stainless anchor stolen.
