Incident Details: A catamaran anchored off Red Frog marina was boarded at 0400 HRS by a lone male while the owners slept onboard. They were awakened when the person was trying to open the closed hatch right above their heads in the master cabin. They began yelling and chased the unwanted person off the yacht. He boarded a wooden canoe and paddled off towards shore. ||They noticed his footprints in the morning dew. He had apparently tried other hatches, which were all locked. Nothing appeared to be missing from the deck. A report was made on the local VHF net.

Incident Details: Owners left their yacht in a slip at Linton Bay Marina while they went to Panama City for a few days. When they returned they found that their full Tropigas propane tank and a coil of new line had been stolen from the side deck. A report was made to the marina.

Incident Details: A yacht outbound from Rio Dulce anchored off Livingston west of the loading dock. On the second night the in-the-water but chain locked dinghy was stolen while the owner slept onboard. A report was made to the police/port captain and about a week later the port captain notified the owner that they had found the dinghy – ransacked but not damaged and minus the outboard, dinghy anchor, fishing gear, flares, etc. It was returned to the owner.

Source Type: 2nd Hand Report

Incident Details: Overnight while owners slept onboard, their in-the-water and not locked dinghy was stolen from their yacht anchored near Carenaro. The dinghy was found by others the next day adrift and engineless, and returned to the owners. It is not known if a police report was made.
