3727 – Theft in Grenada – Grenada – Mt. Hartman Bay

Incident Details: Overnight a raised but not locked dinghy/outboard was stolen from an unoccupied yacht in Mt. Hartman bay. The thief boarded the yacht and cut the davit lines.

The dinghy/outboard and contents were later recovered from the mangroves in lower Woburn Bay, where the outboard was already dismounted but stuck in the mud. The thief left behind some personal items including dark clothing, hat, flashlight and a backpack.

Incident Details: Overnight a thief cut the lines and stole a lifted dinghy/outboard from the davits of an unoccupied yacht anchored near the marina.

Incident Details: At 0300HRS aboard their yacht in its slip, the owners were awakened by the sounds of someone walking onto their boat. They activated surveillance cameras and then went out to confront the intruder as be began to run away, toward his dinghy, which then quickly departed toward the anchorage. Marina security was called.

The burglar was not successful. He was unable to gain access via the well locked (doors and hatches) yacht, but he had rifled some cockpit lockers. A deck cooler had been opened and the beers removed and staged for departure.

A full report was given to marina security, police and on the VHF net.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht anchored just off the marina dock in Linton Bay was burglarized. The thieves broke into the boat via a hatch. Many items were stolen including electronics, high value tools, diving gear, fishing gear, Starlink, hand and head lamps, and other accessories for the boat. A report was made to the marina. A police report will be made when the owner returns.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht near Witch’s Tit was burgled. The owner’s minder investigated after learning about a nearby incident. The thieves broke in through the companionway and ransacked the yacht fully, then concealed their efforts before departing with many items.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht was burgled. The owner returned to find the interior fully ransacked and many things stolen. Some effort was made by the thieves to conceal their entry.

The victim is working with Gendarmes and other cruisers to reinstate nighttime patrols.

Incident Details: A yacht arrived at the Pitons in the late afternoon and politely declined the assistance of a young man who offered tie up services. The man became verbally abusive, threatened the cruisers and then demanded that they leave St. Lucia.

The SMMA park rangers were called on VHF (no response) and on their listed phone numbers (no answer). Later, the rangers arrived to collect fees and indicated they knew the individual and would look into it.

Incident Details: At about 0900HRS a panga with young men was noticed at an (unoccupied) boat as they were loading items from the yacht’s deck into the panga. A cruiser aboard a neighboring yacht began yelling. They returned the items to the yacht and departed. It is not known if a police report was made.
