3741 – Burglary in Martinique (France) – Le Marin – anchorage

Incident Details: A cruiser returned to his yacht anchored in Le Marin after an absence of about 3 months. He found the locked companionway damaged, and the interior ransacked. Many things were taken from inside the yacht including a laptop, the stored outboard, many tools, the EPIRB. Also the VHF radio, GPS, autopilot and depth sounder were stolen. The burglar spent time removing these installed items.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht anchored just off the marina dock in Linton Bay was burglarized. The thieves broke into the boat via a hatch. Many items were stolen including electronics, high value tools, diving gear, fishing gear, Starlink, hand and head lamps, and other accessories for the boat. A report was made to the marina. A police report will be made when the owner returns.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht near Witch’s Tit was burgled. The owner’s minder investigated after learning about a nearby incident. The thieves broke in through the companionway and ransacked the yacht fully, then concealed their efforts before departing with many items.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht was burgled and ransacked. Many things were stolen including lithium batteries, Honda 6HP-4S outboard, a solar panel and tools +++. Thieves broke inside via the companionway, and attempted to conceal their work when done.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht was burgled. The owner returned to find the interior fully ransacked and many things stolen. Some effort was made by the thieves to conceal their entry.

The victim is working with Gendarmes and other cruisers to reinstate nighttime patrols.

Stolen Items: Power and hand tools, vacuum cleaner, fire extinguishers, speakers, flashlights, flare gun kit, painting equipment and accessories, spares including bilge pump, plumbing fittings, fasteners and electrical parts as well as buckets, rope, fuel jugs, large containers and small items, and sail bags.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht on a mooring near Witches Tit was burglarized. Thieves used bolt cutters to gain entry via the companionway. The cockpit lights were removed, and the interior was fully ransacked, damaging some of the storage areas.

Many things were stolen, including power and hand tools, vacuum cleaner, fire extinguishers, speakers, flashlights, flare gun kit, painting equipment and accessories, spares including bilge pump, plumbing fittings, fasteners and electrical parts. as well as buckets, rope, fuel jugs, large containers and small items, and sail bags.

Incident Details: A moored yacht was burgled between July 9-20. The companionway door lock was broken and the yacht fully ransacked. The thieves stole many items including 4x ACDelco 12v AGM batteries 90Ah each
1x Exide 12v battery, size 24, 90Ah, 2x fire extinguishers, wet/dry shop vac, many tools and spare parts, fenders, galley items, chart table items, snorkel gear, several bottles of alcohol and cockpit cushions (2xmarine blue with burgundy piping) .

A report was made to the police and Coast Guard.

Incident Details: A yacht moored near Explorer island was burgled between July 9-15th. The companionway door was broken and the yacht fully ransacked. Burglars removed installed items (batteries/VHF radio/chart plotter +). A locked to the yacht 5HP Tohatsu outboard was also stolen. Tools and even provisions were taken. A police report was made.

3679 – Burglary in Panama – Bocas del Toro – Red Frog

Incident Details: A well locked yacht anchored in the Red Frog area was burglarized. The owners returned after a few hours ashore to find their hatches damaged and many things stolen, including personal electronics (phone, Kindles, tablet, earbuds) and other items. ||A report was made to Aeronaval (Coast Guard) and to the police and marina.

Incident Details: A yacht owner was asked by the marina to leave his boat at the dock while he traveled inland for a few days. He did so, and also provided them with keys they requested. On his return the keys were returned, and things seemed normal. After a few days he noticed that some cash, 5 liters of aged rum and half the cigars had been stolen. He reported it to the marina/port captain and they were unconcerned.
