Incident Details: UPDATED REPORT : Victims have made contact and filed a firsthand report. ||Cruisers tied their dinghy to the Dutch Customs dock by the bridge at 1100HRS and went inside to complete formalities. Almost immediately the dinghy was stolen. Video surveillance captured the lurking thief and his rapid departure to the lagoon. ||The victims discovered the theft at 1400HRS when they returned to the dinghy dock after doing some errands .They immediately returned to the Customs office. Officials there contacted an inspector from the governmental Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunications, the police and the Coast Guard on their behalf. The Ministry inspector arrived 2 hours later, the police 3 hours later and took reports. ||The victims made a report the next morning on the VHF net. Officials shared video surveillance / video footage with them. No follow-up from police or other officials has been made 4 days later. ||Dinghy : Highfield 310 classic. Incident Details: Between 2230 and 0300HRS an in-the-water and not locked dinghy was stolen from a yacht anchored in Simpson Bay while owners slept onboard. A search was made, without result. A police report was made.||UPDATE: Dinghy was found 24 January severely damaged. Incident Details: Overnight a yacht moored in Simpson Bay was burglarized. Thieves destroyed a hatch to break-in and ransacked the interior of the yacht. Binoculars and flashlights were stolen. No police report was made.

Incident Details: An unoccupied yacht in Cole Bay was burglarized between 9-15 December. Given recent activity in the area the owner requested their minder check and they discovered that the fully locked catamaran's sliding door had been jimmied/left open and a forward hatch was left open by intruders. A video was made and tools were missing. A complete listing will be made when a more complete video can be made/the owner returns. The minder assisted in filing a police report. The yacht was secured and owner/minder are awaiting any further direction from the police.

Incident Details: A catamaran in the Dutch lagoon that experienced a boarding 2 days prior was boarded a second time and burgled between 1630-1930HRS. The thieves came prepared with tools and broke in through the locked doorway. ||The entire yacht was ransacked and the thieves stole cash, all electrical devices and cables, and a backpack to carry it all in. Reports were made to police and Coast Guard in both jurisdictions. Live tracking data for the stolen devices was provided.||UPDATE : Some of the stolen items have been recovered/returned by another cruiser who tracked his own stolen dinghy, see 3441.
