3680 – Attempted Burglary in Panama – Bocas del Toro – Bocas Marina anchorage

Incident Details: At 1800HRS cruisers on neighboring yachts noticed a local cayuco with 2 women had circled and then approached a locked and obviously vacant yacht in the south anchorage. One of the women boarded the yacht. The cruisers began yelling and videoing and once discovered the woman who had boarded returned to the cayuco and they paddled away. The police and the owner were contacted and a report was made. The women claimed ignorance and were warned.

3679 – Burglary in Panama – Bocas del Toro – Red Frog

Incident Details: A well locked yacht anchored in the Red Frog area was burglarized. The owners returned after a few hours ashore to find their hatches damaged and many things stolen, including personal electronics (phone, Kindles, tablet, earbuds) and other items. ||A report was made to Aeronaval (Coast Guard) and to the police and marina.

Incident Details: In broad daylight at 1500HRS owners heard noise and went topside to discover that 2 men were attempting to steal their in-the-water and (currently) not locked dinghy. Once discovered the men grabbed the dinghy fuel tank and departed in their open boat, leaving the yacht's dinghy/outboard behind. Other boats nearby captured the activity on video. The crew pursued the thieves open boat with assistance from a nearby yacht and recovered the fuel tank, sustaining injuries (a broken foot). A report was made to the police (Aeronaval) and they offered first aid.

Incident Details: A catamaran anchored overnight in the Chagres river and was boarded at about 0300HRS. The yacht's security video captured the masked and gloved thief, armed with a knife as he rummaged the cockpit area. Nothing was taken, but when the dinghy davit lines were cut the loud noise scared the thief off. The dinghy was chain locked to the yacht.

There is a wedge shaped lime green stripe under the Enduro decal on engine, and hand hold on rear is lime green as well. A report was made to the police and Coast Guard.

Incident Details: While the crew were exploring the river by dinghy their yacht was boarded by thieves. Their companionway was well locked but the thieves found an unsecured hatch and gained access to the interior. They searched thoroughly and many items were stolen from the deck/cockpit/interior including dive tanks, snorkeling gear, wet suits, fishing gear, a laptop, 2 tablets, 4 power banks, 3 sets of headphones, 4 portable speakers, an electric induction stove, swimwear, beer, milk, 3 wallets. ||A report was made to the police and Coast Guard.
