Incident Details: Overnight, a panga / 20HP Suzuki was stolen from a slip on San Cristobal. It was locked with a steel cable to a piling. The panga had no bimini and is blue with an orange stripe and a grey interior. A report was made to the police and on the VHF net.

Source Type: 2nd Hand Report

Incident Details: While the owner slept onboard, an attempt was made to steal their in-the-water and chain locked dinghy. The painter was cut, but the chain prevented the theft. The owner discovered the cut painter the next morning.

Incident Details: Overnight while the owner slept onboard, the yacht’s in-the-water and not locked dinghy was stolen. The painter had been cut.

CSSN UPDATE : Reports were made to the police and Aeronaval. A second boat also had an attempt to steal thier in-the-water but chain locked dinghy. See 3688.

Incident Details: Overnight, a chain locked panga / Yamaha 155HP engine was stolen from the Red Frog anchorage. A police report was made. The panga minus the engine was recovered later that day.

Incident Details: Overnight while the owner slept onboard their in-the-water and not locked West Marine dinghy / 9.9HP Suzuki was stolen. It was recovered in Basti the next day, minus the engine, fuel tank and oars.

Incident Details: Overnight while the owner slept onboard the in-the-water and not locked dinghy was stolen from a yacht in the south anchorage. A report was made on the local VHF net, and a local search was conducted, but not successful.

CSSN UPDATE : Dinghy was found intact at a dock located upwind of the anchorage, and returned to the owner.

Incident Details: At 1800HRS cruisers on neighboring yachts noticed a local cayuco with 2 women had circled and then approached a locked and obviously vacant yacht in the south anchorage. One of the women boarded the yacht. The cruisers began yelling and videoing and once discovered the woman who had boarded returned to the cayuco and they paddled away. The police and the owner were contacted and a report was made. The women claimed ignorance and were warned.
