Incident Details: Two workers in a forward cabin heard noise and found a man rifling a cabinet in the main cabin of a yacht on a private dock near Bruno’s. The thief had apparently thought the yacht was empty after seeing the owner go ashore. The workers recognized the thief and a police report was made.

Incident Details: A yacht anchored off Livingston . On their second night during a rainstorm the captain/crew awoke when they heard noise. The captain went topsides and found a thief on a kayak had stolen 2 fenders, cut and stolen several lines from the deck and was in the process of cutting the mainsail sheet. A report was made to the port captain the next day.

Incident Details: A yacht anchored off Bruno's had its in-the-water and not locked dinghy/8HP engine stolen overnight. The owners discovered a cut line the next morning. The theft was reported on the VHF net, it is not known if a police report was made. ||During the VHF net, other thefts were reported, of small not lockable items. During the weekend of Oct 23-24 a dinghy fuel line and racor filter were stolen from a locked dinghy at Abel's boatyard, and reported to management there. During the week of October 18, another dinghy (location not known) had its propeller stolen from the tilted engine. Incident Details: The owner and crew were absent from a yacht anchored off the Shack Bar in Fronteras from August 17 to September 22. When a crew member returned they discovered that the 5HP Yamaha outboard and a solar panel had been stolen from the deck. The thieves came prepared with tools, the outboard was cable locked to the stern pulpit and the solar panel strongly sealed to the deck.

Incident Details: A yacht outbound from Rio Dulce anchored off Livingston west of the loading dock. On the second night the in-the-water but chain locked dinghy was stolen while the owner slept onboard. A report was made to the police/port captain and about a week later the port captain notified the owner that they had found the dinghy – ransacked but not damaged and minus the outboard, dinghy anchor, fishing gear, flares, etc. It was returned to the owner.

Incident Details: The outboard engine was stolen from the dinghy of a yacht that stranded with mainsail up and engine on on the north shore of Cabo Tres Puntas, Guatemala. The singlehanded owner is missing and presumed to have gone overboard offshore. The engineless dinghy was recovered adrift a few days later in Belize.
