Incident Details: Owners were awakened at 0500HRS when thieves attempted to break into their catamaran's locked sliding door. Once aware they had been discovered the thieves departed quickly in their motorized boat. A police report was made.

Stolen Items: Boston Whaler / 25HP Yamaha outboard (later recovered, minus the fuel tanks). *** A second outboard was also found

Source Type: 1st Hand Report

Incident Details: A Boston Whaler / 25HP Yamaha outboard locked with heavy stainless chain to the dock near IWW/Bobby's was stolen between 0200-0500HRS during a power outage. Video surveillance and dock lighting were not functioning during the outage, a backup generator had failed to start. ||The dinghy was noticed/recovered a few days later outside Nettle Bay on a rocky beach, minus the fuel tanks and with some significant damage. *** A second outboard (15HP Yamaha) was also found there in the surf. It has been flushed and stored safely and is waiting for an owner to identify it. Please contact CSSN with serial number details if you are the owner.

Incident Details: Between 2200HRS on 4 May and 0700HRS on 5 May a yacht's secondary dingy/40HP Yamaha was stolen from alongside in the Port De Plaisance Marina. The dinghy was not locked, but tied to the midship cleat. Reports were made to the marina and the police.||UPDATE: A reward was offered and the dinghy was recovered

Incident Details: Owner returned to the dinghy dock and found the fuel tank had been stolen from their locked to the dock dinghy. They later learned that 3 others had suffered a similar fate. The guard did not notice the thefts but the license plate was captured on video surveillance.

Incident Details: A catamaran anchored in Simpson Bay and the crew went ashore for dinner. When they returned they found the electric scooters that had been left charging in the cockpit were missing. They assumed another crew member was using them and went to bed. The next morning they determined the scooters had been stolen, as well as a new in-the- box drone. The thieves had carefully rummaged the yacht and left behind cameras, computers, hard drives, etc. ||Ashore the next day they randomly encountered a man on one of the stolen scooters, and retrieved it. A full report was made to the Coast Guard and the police. The thieves were recognized as jet ski tour operators in the anchorage and identified, photos were provided to the police.

Incident Details: Cruisers arrived back to their catamaran at 2115HRS and discovered a thief had boarded after slashing the trampoline lashing and entering through the unlocked forward head hatch. He pulled a mask over his head and pointed what looked like a gun at the crew before boarding his small dinghy which had been left secured between the hulls. The cat's crew rammed the small dinghy and the thief fell overboard and swam towards shore. ||The next day the crew found the mans pants on the seabed below the yacht and in the pockets were their dive watch, the man's phone and a gun magazine. The small dinghy and all but the dive watch were turned over to the Dutch police. The police indicated the gun magazine was likely from some sort of BB gun type of weapon.
