Incident Details: A yacht arrived at the Pitons in the late afternoon and politely declined the assistance of a young man who offered tie up services. The man became verbally abusive, threatened the cruisers and then demanded that they leave St. Lucia.

The SMMA park rangers were called on VHF (no response) and on their listed phone numbers (no answer). Later, the rangers arrived to collect fees and indicated they knew the individual and would look into it.

Incident Details: A yacht arrived in Soufriere and took a mooring. They visited friends on a neighboring yacht for about 2 hours that evening. They did not lock the yacht and on their return discovered that they had been boarded. The thief entered the salon and stole cash, credit cards and a phone which had been left on a table. A report was made in person to the local police. The police and a Soufriere Marine Management Area (SMMA) ranger then visited the yacht.

Incident Details: At about 0400HRS the owner/crew of a yacht berthed on a private dock opposite the marina were awakened when they heard a hissing noise. They discovered their companionway boards (not locked) had been removed. They turned on deck lights and searched the dock area and noticed a blinking light ashore. It was coming from their stolen life raft, which had been deployed in the adjacent vacant lot. The cover on the cockpit plotter/radar display was also stolen as well as all of the cash from a wallet left in a pants pocket in the salon.||The police were called and arrived 2 hours later to take a report. They noticed 2 sets of footprints near the stolen (but recovered) life raft. The police indicated they would survey for video footage.

Incident Details: While anchored overnight in Laborie Bay, a Honda 2.3HP engine was stolen from the rail. A crew member was asleep in the cockpit. ||The crew of a second yacht awoke when they heard noises. Looking through a portlight they saw a thief onboard taking a fishing rod from its holder. Incident Details: Owners were awakened in the early hours when they heard noises from an outboard engine. They looked through a portlight and saw a thief onboard their yacht removing a fishing rod from its holder. The thief departed before they were able to get to the deck, when it was noticed he had stolen 2 rods. ||A second boat had their outboard engine stolen the same night. See report 3309.

Incident Details: Cruisers returned to their yacht in Rodney Bay Marina after a 2 week absence and noticed that an unoccupied neighboring yacht was missing all its fenders and a spring line. Close inspection revealed the fender lines had been cut. The marina was notified and they used one of their own fenders to help prevent damage. Few lights were working on the dock and no CCTV coverage was in place.
